Mele Tauati holds a Bachelor of Marine Science from the University of the South Pacific and a Masters of Science in Tropical Marine Ecology and Fisheries Biology from James Cook University. She has extensive experience working with the Pacific Islands nations, commencing in 2006. Mele also held roles as a Senior Fisheries Officer for Coastal Fisheries with Samoa’s Fisheries Division. She joined FAO headquarters in 2023.
